Pastor Lauri Allen has been called to be the pastor and teacher for St. John UCC in Kankakee, IL starting November 1st, 2025.

She previously served as pastor of Mayfield Congregational UCC in Sycamore, IL, Peace United Church of Christ in Genoa, Illinois, and has provided pulpit supply to many churches across northern Illinois.

Pastor Lauri graduated from Chicago Theological Seminary and Benedictine University. She volunteers for the Illinois Conference of the United Church of Christ as an advisor for Thriving Pastors in Revitalizing Congregations (TPIRC) and previously served on the Stewardship Committee.

A long-time supporter of animal rescues, Lauri especially enjoys fostering kittens. She has volunteered extensively for children’s causes and other social justice organizations.  She has a daughter in Spokane, WA who is an amazing artist. Lauri enjoys reading, traveling, and sharing a good pot of coffee with family and friends – and she considers everyone a potential friend!
